Hello Gamasutra readers,

Here is a new chart concerning my revenue from advertisement in my android games.
This chart will show you ALL the income from advertisement since the beginning.

All my 23 games are included, but oddly, only the Racing games are visible so 90% of the revenue comes from them.

daily revenue in USD

Here are some explanations/thoughts... but do not hesitate to post here you own comments (or questions) on it.

  • Slowly, the income grows from 0 to 18 USD per day in 9 months, so hopefully at the end of the year I should have at least a minimum of around 32 USD daily.

  • We can see the importance of the revenue during every weekend, so if there is a marketing effort to do, be sure to include the more weekends possible... Doh, I know it sounds obvious, but the graph is here to prove what android developers say without ever showing their own numbers... just to say that here out loud: PLEASE FELLOW DEVELOPERS... Like I am doing since the beginning, SHOW US YOUR OWN NUMBERS SO WE CAN COMPARE!!!

  • Peaks: We can also see the importance of the first 30 days of a release, the visibility that offers Google play in the category "Top New Free", and the tremendous drop that follows the end... Conclusion: Google wants us to spend money on advertisement to stay up here... Well, If every developer spends money this way, it won't be very useful, is it? Anyway this fact is cruel but it's just the truth: Don't do what I do... spend money on advertisement otherwise your numbers will look like mine, 30 days up and then falling down... To explain a bit further those peaks, the first one corresponds to the release of eXtremeMotoCross (580K downloads), the second peak corresponds to the release of eXtremeSlotRacing(330K downloads) PLUS 15 days later the release of CrazXRacing (740K downloads, our best seller so far)

  • A hint from this chart: Release one game in the category your are the best at (for me, racing games) every 30 days if you want to be rich one day... (sigh)

I hope those numbers were helpful for some of you.

Today (Tuesday May 15th 2012) I am releasing the sequel to eXtreme MotoCross: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gamayun.extrememotocross2free
XFMX2

Wish me good luck, and please android owners, download it, try it, and leave your comments here!

Cheers,

   Thierry

While I currently have no plans to release any games on android at this point in time thanks for the info anyway. I do intend to release a game or two on android somewhere down the line and any info on the platform is helpful.

Thanks, I'm glad that my blog entry is interesting for you. If you need any help or hints about publishing for android, and God knows how difficult the road is, do not hesitate to ask me.
