According to the design doc I wrote, I have finished my Halloween game. All of the features are complete, so why aren't I happy with it?

After working on my unfinished 8bit JRPG for three years I was stuck, unable to move forward. I finally just shipped something: a mini-game which tested ideas, got feedback, and freed my brain to be creative again.

Adapted from my NodePDX presentation, II built an MMO version of Whack-A-Mole with a server-less architecture. More than 20 people can compete at the same time on a big dashboard by playing on their phones.

Pokmon Go is a phenomenon that is both amazing and scary, and full of immense potential. My biggest question is why now? Why did Pokmon Go take off in a way that no location based game ever has. A few weeks ago I wandered around campus to find out.
